Painting or photography? Since its creation on November 10, 1956, the chemigram has been the subject of as much ink as varnish. It is sometimes classified as a fine art, sometimes as a photography, as if everything, always, was a matter of categories. This unprecedented technique combines the physics of painting (varnish, wax, oil) and the chemistry of photography (photosensitive emulsion, developer, fixer), without a camera or enlarger and in full light.
